Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi Province and one of the oldest cities in China. It is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in more than 3000 years of the Chinese history. Tourism is an important component of the local economy such as the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang and his Terracotta Army. And with these places and others like the Bell Tower, Drum Tower and the impressive City Wall it is often called a “living history book”. It has antiques on display from all of the different dynasties that held Xi’An in the past.
Xian is famous for good imitations of arts and crafts of the Qin and Tang dynasties, such as tri-colored glazed pottery and imitations of ancient bronze ware. You’ll also be able to find replica Qin Dynasty embroidery, artistic porcelain ware, jade, and many many more authentically copied things.
Xi’an sadly fell behind other big cities like Beijing with regards to development, but what it lacks in it’s international and economic growth it makes up for with its cultural charm.
